THE TRADE SHOW EXHIBITORS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES SALE OF TS2 TO NATIONAL TRADE PRODUCTIONS
Alexandria, VA, October 27, 2004 - The Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA) and National Trade Productions (NTP) today announced the sale of TS2-The Trade Show About Trade Shows® to NTP. NTP is assuming ownership and overall management of the TS2 trade show and conference beginning today. TSEA will partner with NTP as the event sponsor, will continue to develop and manage the educational programming associated with TS2 and will continue to hold its annual meeting at TS2.
"This sale allows TSEA to concentrate its expertise and resources on benefits that are important to our members, such as meaningful services and quality education. At the same time, it provides our members with customary discounts to attend and/or exhibit in the annual TS2 event," says Sal Cavallaro, CME, TSEA's Chairman of the Board.
TSEA's President Michael Bandy added, "TSEA is very excited about the ideas NTP has to enhance TS2. They are able to put additional focus and resources into the show that will make a difference."
NTP's Chairman Robert Harar said, "NTP plans on bringing a new energy and new dynamics to the TS2 experience. Out of the gate we are doubling the marketing budget, reducing the exposition from three days to two days, and increasing the power of the exhibitor advisory committee. In addition, we have hired Steve Greenspan, an industry veteran, to expand the show through relationship building and partnerships."
TSEA and NTP representatives concur that this sale is a win-win scenario for all involved. NTP can focus its resources on developing attendance, managing the trade show, and increasing the overall event's value. TSEA will concentrate on the educational aspects of TS2, including seminars, speakers and the Certified Manager of Exhibits program. The two organizations will work closely together to leverage the synergies in taking the event to a new level for the industry.
Planning is in full swing for production of next year's TS2, which is scheduled to take place July 11-14, 2005, at the Washington DC Convention Center. For more information about attending or exhibiting, please contact NTP at 703-683-8500, or TSEA at 312.842.8732. Or, visit the TS2 web site, www.tsea.org/ts2.
